--This means
copy your documents to the "H" drive --
Your documents are usually in one of two places:
- Desktop
- My Documents (Windows XP) or Documents (Windows Vista)
The easiest way to get to and copy these folders is to
copy your "My Documents" ("Documents" in Vista), "Desktop," and "Favorites"
folders to your "H" drive.
One way to do this is:
- Open "My Computer" (XP) or "Computer" (Vista)

Open your "H" drive

Make a folder in your "H" drive, and name it after today’s date.

 |
Open the folder you just created.
Keeping that folder open, go back to "My Computer"
Open your hard drive ("C")
Open "Documents and Settings" (XP) or "Users" (Vista)

Find, and open, the folder named after your login id. (e.g. "sgolanka")
- Note: If you have worked on more than one campus, there may be
more than one folder named after your login. Choose the one with
your current campus appended to the name (e.g. sgolanka.wc).

- Inside this folder, you will notice folders called "Desktop,"
"Favorites," and "My Documents." The folders can be copied one at a time,
or all at once.
- Select the folder you want (or all of them, by using "CTRL-Click").
- Copy the folder(s) ("CTRL-C").
- Go to the folder you created on your "H" drive
- Paste the folder(s) ("CTRL-V").

That is it. You can close any folders that are
open.
Note: sometimes, a file that is corrupted or in
use will not allow itself to be copied. Unfortunately, a file like this
stops the copying process. You may have to use the procedure above, but go
further into the folders (My Documents, Desktop, Favorites), and copy the
individual files and folders inside the "big" folder. If you just try to
re-copy, you will likely end up stuck at the same place again.
