Setting a Default Printer

  Setting a Default Printer

A default printer is the one to which your computer prints automatically.  Please do not use color printers as your default printer.

Setting a default for already existing printer:

  1. Go to start/ settings/ printers and find the icon of the printer you want.
  2. Right mouse click on that icon and a window will appear.
  3. Check "Set As Default".

Choosing different printers:

When you are ready to print, go to "File/Print" or "Ctrl/P" to get the print dialog box.  The arrow in the first box will allow you to choose the different printers already installed on your computer for this print job.  The next print job will print on this printer until you close out of the program you're in.  The next time you open a program, your computer resume to its assigned default.
