·         After your mailbox has been migrated to the new mail server you should receive a daily email (example below) listing all of the messages that were trapped by the Postini filter 

·         You can have any of the listed messages delivered to your inbox by simply clicking the Deliver link in the rightmost column  

·         If you want to view the entire email to determine if it should be delivered to your mailbox

o   Click on the Subject to open the Postini website 

o   Click either the Deliver to Inbox or Remove to Trash button

·         Open the email you received from Trevor Day School Support [techsupport@trevornet.org] with the subject: Trevor Day School has Activated your New Mail Services!

·         In the body of the email, click the link similar to this one - http://login.postini.com/exec/login?email=gwashington@trevornet.org

·         If you cannot locate the email or link-

o   Open your web browser

o   Copy and paste the URL in the address box: http://login.postini.com/exec/login?email=gwashington@trevornet.org

o   To the right of email= in the URL key in your email address and press the enter key

·         This will open a page (like the one shown below) that lists the junk mail trapped by the filter 

·         To deliver any of the messages to your mailbox, or delete them from the Postini page

o   Click the check box to the left of the email

o   Click the applicable button – Delete Selected or Deliver

 

 

 Adjusting Your Junk Mail Filter

 

·         If too much junk mail is reaching your Outlook mailbox you can adjust the settings to more stringently filter incoming messages

o   Open the Postini site

o   Click on the My Settings link in the upper right corner to open the page below

 

·         Click on -> Manage Junk Filters

·         From the Overall Junk Filter select a level greater than Normal

·         Change the individual category filters to a higher number

·         Click the Save Settings button

 

·         Experiment with the filter levels by turning them up gradually and check the results 

·         If you are not getting valid emails or still getting too much junk mail, make further adjustments

·         The Help section provides information on all of the basic functionality of the site

 

Note: You may continue to receive several junk mails in the near future even if you set your filter to the max.   This is due to the junk mail sent to Trevor email distribution lists rather than individual users.  Once we add all of our distribution lists to the Postini site you should see a noticeable drop off in junk mail.
