Controlling Junk Mail in Outlook 2003

If junk e-mail is finding its way to your inbox you may need to adjust your filter.  The filter will redirect most SPAM to your junk e-mail folder where you can easily review and delete it.  Please see the directions below to make the changes.

From the main Outlook toolbar click on:

  • Actions
  • Junk E-mail
  • Junk E-mail options

A dialog box labeled Junk E-mail Options will appear.

In the dialog box, click on the circle to the left of “High”.

Make sure the bottom box to the left of Don’t turn on links in messages… is checked.

If the filter directs a legitimate e-mail to your junk e-mail folder:

  • Drag and drop the e-mail in your inbox.
  • Right click on the e-mail and select Junk E-mail on the drop down menu
  • Click on Add Sender to Safe Senders List
