If you do not want to clog your email with full resolution images and you know you will have many images to share, email the Web Administrator to gain access as a Media Archive Assistant. This will enable you to upload images directly to the Archive and to help organize its galleries.

   
  1. View a video demonstration on these topics (optional.)

     
  2. Parents and students may attain permission to be a Media Archive Assistant by requesting login credentials from the Web Administrator (please click this link or address your email to webadmin@trevornet.org , subject "Media Archive Assistant." Faculty can find them on the portal in > My Groups > Teacher (Role) > More Links. Note: The username and password are the same for all Media Archive Assistants. Please do not share it unless you have gained permission from the Web Administrator.
     
  3. Use Internet Explorer to navigate to the Trevor Media Archive and click the login link at the bottom of the screen.

     
  4. Enter your login credentials attained from the All Faculty Links module from the portal.
  5. Once you are logged in you will see the control panel at the top of the screen.

     
  6. Navigate to the current academic year and click either the image or the heading.

     
  7. Click Add Photos>Create New Gallery. You will be switched to SmugMug's interface for creating a new gallery.

     
  8. Enter the Title of your new gallery.
  9. Set the Category to the current academic year. (It may already be set.)
  10. You can change the Gallery Nickname to something more friendly. You will see and example of it in the URL Preview.
  11. Set the Quick Settings: drop menu to Trevor.
  12. Click the Save button.
     
      Once Java is loaded the screen is ready for uploads
     
      Files are ready for uploading to the Archive.
  13. Your first time in, you will be presented with many choices with which to upload images. We recommend you use Simple. (Please follow SmugMug's instructions for installing and enabling the Java program for Internet Explorer or FireFox.) Once it is installed, the the Simple loader should look like the image to the right.
  14. Click and drag photos or videos (Note: Videos may be up to 10 minutes in length and no more than 512mb in size) and/or folders containing photos or videos into the Uploader or use the Add Files & Folders button. Once the files have been added to the Uploader, the images or videos will be listed and ready for upload You may delete any unintended images or folders by hovering over them and clicking the or delete button.
  15. Click the Upload button. You will see that three images will be uploaded at a time (in Internet Explorer only. Firefox loads one at a time and may crash with multiple files. We recommend using IE for this reason.) This may take some time depending on the speed of your connection and the size of your files.
  16. Once the files are uploaded, the Upload window will be empty.
  17. You may add more pictures by repeating steps 14- 15.
  18. Click the link at the top which contains the name of your new gallery.

     
  19. You will see your new gallery and the images it contains.
  20. Click the Add Description link to enter a description of the gallery beginning with your name and relationship to Trevor. Descriptions are used to help create articles for Trevor This Week. Example: Ms. Jane Doe, Middle School teacher, or Mr. John Smith, Trevor dad.
  21. Click Save
  22. Read the instructions on creating a new gallery.
  23. Read the instructions on adding photos to a gallery.
  24. Stay logged in to the Media Archive and read the tutorial on Adding Captions.
