Installing and Configuring the Microsoft Firewall Client 

1. Install the Proxy Client
   1. Click the link below. (You must be at school to do this)
      • WC Users: file://Fw4/mspclnt/setup.exe
      • EC Users:  file://fwec1/mspclnt/setup.exe
   2. Choose Open
   3. The Install Wizard for the Microsoft Firewall Client will Open
   4. Click Next
   5. Click Next again
   6. Click Automatically Detect the appropriate ISA server computer
   7. Click Next
   8. Click Install
   9. The installation may take several minutes to complete
   10. Click Finish
2. Configure
   1. Double Click the Firewall Client icon
      in the taskbar

3. Check "Enable Firewall Client for ISA Server 2004"
4. Select "Manually select ISA Server"
5. Enter or check to see if the following servers are listed
   • WC: fw4.wc.trevornet.org
   • EC: fwec1.ec.trevornet.org
6. Click Test Server.
7. You should get something like the following message in return if you have entered the server instructions correctly:
8. Click Close
9. Select the Web Browser Tab at the top of the window
10. Click Apply
11. Check Enable Web Browser automatic configuration
12. Click Apply
13. Click OK

3. Notes on Using MSFWC
   1. MSFWC can be used for most internet connections and it should be used for FTP clients, AOL and other direct access clients.
   2. The task bar icon allows for easy switching between using MSFWC and turning it off. 
   3. MSFWC and IE LAN Settings may be used concurrently but some functions may not work as desired. If so, experiment with using one connection over the other.
   4. MSFWC must be disabled when connecting directly to Internet connections outside of the school.
