MSFWC (Microsoft Firewall Client) Is a required tool for
connecting to the Internet via a proxy server when a computer is located
within the school premises.
- Install the Proxy Client
- Click the link below. (You must be at school to do this)
- Choose Open
- The Install Wizard for the Microsoft Firewall Client will Open
- Click Next

- Click Next again
- Click Automatically Detect the appropriate ISA server

- Click Next
- Click Install
- The installation may take several minutes to complete
- Click Finish
- Configure
- Double Click the Firewall Client icon
in the
taskbar

- Check "Enable Firewall Client for ISA Server 2004"
- Select "Manually select ISA Server"
- Enter or check to see if the following servers are listed
- WC: fw4.wc.trevornet.org
- EC: fwec1.ec.trevornet.org
- Click Test Server.
- You should get something like the following message in return if you
have entered the server instructions correctly:

- Click Close
- Select the Web Browser Tab at the top of the window
- Click Apply
- Check Enable Web Browser automatic configuration
- Click Apply
- Click OK
- Notes on Using MSFWC
- MSFWC can be used for most internet connections and it should be
used for FTP clients, AOL and other direct access clients.
- The task bar icon allows for easy switching between using MSFWC
and turning it off.
- MSFWC and IE LAN Settings may be used concurrently but some
functions may not work as desired. If so, experiment with using
one connection over the other.
- MSFWC must be disabled
when connecting directly to Internet connections outside of the
school.
