How to post audio assignments in BYOB Audio
Implementation Instructions
1. To record your audio message by telephone;
A. Start with your Audio Assignment Sheet. (This is an excel file and is
located in a BYOB folder in your web site.)
B. Choose an unused Audio ID.
C. Describe the assignment in the "Use For" field next to
the audio ID, for future reference.
D. Prepare your audio message.
E. Call toll free (866) 333-2962.
F. When prompted, enter the Pin Code from the top of your Audio
Assignment Sheet followed by the pound sign (#).
G. When prompted, enter your selected Audio ID followed by the pound
sign (#).
H. After the tone, record your message. When done, press the pound
sign(#).
1) You may listen to your message by pressing one (1).
2) You may re-record your message by pressing two (2).
3) When you are satisfied with the message, YOU MUST PRESS
THREE(3) to save the message.
I. Hang up.

You may make recordings and then upload them to BYOB. To record your
audio message and upload it to BYOB (NOTE: You must have a Windows PC
with a microphone)
- To record your audio message by microphone
(NOTE: You must have a Windows PC with a microphone);
- Start with your Audio Assignment Sheet.
- Choose an unused Audio ID.
- Describe the assignment in the “Use For” field
next to the audio ID, for future reference.
- Prepare your audio message.
- In your internet browser type this address;
http://www.byobroadcast.com/micrecorder/
- Enter the Pin Code from the top of your Audio
Assignment Sheet.
- Enter your selected Audio ID.
- Press the SUBMIT button.
- Record your message;
- Connect your microphone to your computer.
- Push RECORD and speak your message.
- Push STOP when you're finished.
- Push PLAY to review your message.
- To re-record, repeat starting at step 2.
- When your satisfied with the message, you
must push SAVE, to save it.
- You may close the browser now.
- You may also record sounds using a digital sound
recorder
- Record
your file using Sound Recorder or another sound recording software
- The audio file must be
saved in Microsoft GSM format (aka GSM 6.10)
8KHz, 16-bit, Mono
- In Sound Recorder:
- Save As - Enter a
file name like your_recording.wav
- Click Change
- In the Format
Drop menu - select GSM 6.10
- In Attributes -
Choose 8.000khz, Mono
- Click OK
- In your internet
browser type this address:

- After recording your message;
- Open the page you wish to have the sound played from in Microsoft
Front Page
- Highlight the words you want the student to click on to hear the
audio message, i.e.; Your First Homework Assignment
Hold the CTRL key and press K (Ctrl+K)
D. Replace the
http://
with the following, substituting the Audio ID you used above in place of
the words "Insert Audio ID Here"
1) Javascript:play('Insert Audio ID Here')
E. Insure that you leave the single quotes (‘) and do NOT insert
the double quotes (")
F. Save the HTML page.
G. Choose – PREVIEW IN BROWSER
H. Test by clicking on the words you highlighted in step B.

You may include multiple audio messages on a web page. Just use a
unique Audio ID for each message, starting over at Step 1 for each
message.
