The
College Office at Trevor is a busy place and our door is always open
to Trevor students and families. We help to make sure that students
and parents receive thorough preparation for completing the college
admissions process through our presentations, meetings information
manual and comprehensive website. Beginning in mid-winter, juniors
and their parents are invited to College Night, where an overview of
the college process is presented. In the spring of the junior year,
our office helps families to determine appropriate schools and
advises them about testing procedures, financial aid forms and
college visits. The goal is for all students to apply to schools
that are both challenging and appropriate.
The Trevor Day School College Office uses
TCCi
Family Connection from Naviance
to help guide students and families
through the college process. TCCi Family Connection enables our
counseling office to offer a comprehensive website that families can
use to help in making decisions about colleges and careers. Students
are also encouraged to access college information through the
TrevorNet college web page which provides links to many useful
resources on the Internet.
Trevor students have choices among excellent
schools, and perhaps more important, they do well when they get
there. Some graduates attend the most selective Ivy League schools
while others head for large state universities, small liberal arts
colleges or schools of art, design or music. The diversity in the
schools selected reflects the cultural and intellectual range of the
student body as described by Trevor's Vision, Mission and Values.
